The 2019 shooting year has officially begun for me with the completion of Project 1: Nicole. I used a Nikon F4 loaded with Ilford HP5+ and a Nikon F2 loaded with Ilford FP4+. I recently purchased a Helios 44-2 58mm f/2 and used that on each camera. The F4’s meter works find so I used that to meter all HP5+ shots, however the F2’s meter is busted so I used the Lightwheel Meter app on my iPhone to meter the FP4+.

As for processing, the HP5+ was developed in Kodak HC-110 dil B and the FP4+ was developed in Ilfotec DD-X.
I am very pleased with the results I got from this first project of the year. Project 2 is already in the planning phase and should be shot sometime in April. I’m undecided yet as to which camera I will use since both performed admirably. Perhaps I should throw the Nikon F100 in the mix just to make it more interesting.
As always, let me know what you think. I’m always glad to hear your thoughts.
Happy Shooting!
