FP4+ and D23

If you’ve been following me you know that I’ve been working with homemade D23 for a month or so now. One film I have not developed in it is Ilford FP4+, until last Saturday. I was able to get my son to agree to a quick roll of him and his Mustang. To be fair, he was quick to say yes. After all, what boy doesn’t want to be photographed with their new car?

The roll was shot through a YashicaMAT 124G fitted with a yellow filter. Metering was done with a Sekonic L-358 and the film rated at 125. Development was in homemade D23 (replenished) for 10 minutes and scanned with an Epson V600.

It’s been a long time (over a year) since I last shot FP4, but after seeing the images I have to ask myself why. Rest assured, I will be keeping this film on hand at all times from here on out.

As always, If you’ve shot this film/developer combination I’d love to hear what you think. What worked, what didn’t, just leave it in the comments below.

God Bless and Happy Shooting!
